Rustic Romance

A June evening with perfect weather and an amazing sunset set the scene. Family and friends flew in from far and wide to return to the Hudson Valley, a place of childhood memories, to enjoy the bride and groom’s country wedding set atop a mountain in a castle with breathtaking views of the Hudson River.

The rehearsal dinner had taken place in an ancient inn and an after party welcomed all out of town guests, who were served desserts in a torch lit garden on a starlit night.

The bride and groom, who reside in California, are food and wine connoisseurs and their guests dined enjoyed many courses beginning with foie gras, summer fruit compote, and brioche toast points. Julian, formerly of the Four Seasons New York City, provided all the wine pairings.

After many toasts and dancing, the lemon vanilla bean cake with meringue was served with a composed plate of summer berries and scented whipped cream.

Kate chose loose garden bouquets set in country white vases with custom linens, raffia, and tinted glasses on the tablecloths. After much fun, a bonfire was lit, marshmallows were toasted, and a bluegrass band played outside on the mountaintop for the remainder of the evening. An array of shawls kept the guests cozy. Later, Kate was whisked away by the charming couple for a champagne toast in the getaway car. What a wonderful thank you!
